Vps Personal App

Terms of Service

Effective Date: November 6, 2026 · Last Updated: November 6, 2026

1. Nature and Scope of Application

The Vps application ("the Application") is an independent, personal backup automation utility developed and maintained by Daniil Fedorov for private infrastructure management and disaster recovery.

This Application is strictly a private, single-user system maintenance tool. It is not a commercial product, does not provide public registration or multi-tenant services, and is not distributed as a commercial cloud service.

2. Permitted Use

The Application is intended exclusively for the authorized administrator to back up and restore server configuration files, application volumes, and system databases using their own authenticated Google Drive storage quota via the Google Drive API.

Any use of this software must comply with all applicable local laws, regulations, and Google's API Services User Data Policy.

3. No Public or Commercial Services

The Application does not offer paid subscriptions, customer accounts, financial transactions, or public hosting services. No representations are made regarding commercial availability or enterprise SLAs (Service Level Agreements).

4. Responsibility for Passphrases and Encryption Keys

All backup archives created by the Application are encrypted on the client side using Restic with industry-standard cryptographic algorithms (AES-256-CTR and Poly1305 MAC).

Critical Notice:

  • The user and server administrator bear sole responsibility for securely storing and preserving the master encryption passphrases and machine recovery identifiers.
  • Because the Application uses zero-knowledge client-side encryption, lost or forgotten passphrases render backup data mathematically unrecoverable. Neither the developer nor Google can recover or reset lost cryptographic keys.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

The Application is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Under no circumstances shall the author be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

  • The use or inability to use the Application;
  • Any failure, outage, or modification of Google APIs or storage infrastructure;
  • Corrupted, incomplete, or unrecoverable backup files;
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of transmissions or data.

6. Termination and Revocation of Access

Access to Google Drive may be revoked at any time by the user via the Google Account Security settings (https://myaccount.google.com/permissions).

The developer reserves the right to discontinue, modify, or update the Application at any time without prior notice.
